Stable and Light Weight Composite Structure

Allcomp has supported science-based programs requiring technological advances and innovative design concepts. For the high-energy physics US community, Allcomp designed and manufactured an ultra-stable, ultra-lightweight composite – carbon foam sandwich structure for the ATLAS Pixel Detector, which supports a large array of pixel modules that must operate in high radiation environment for a 10year life span.

Carbon-Carbon Ion Grids and Structure

Allcomp also has played a leading role in developing C-C materials and structures for Ion Engine Application. Working with various government agencies and end users, we have fabricated full size ion grids for laboratory testing and extended performance evaluation.

Thermal Management

Allcomp has developed a family of specialty high conductivity Graphite based material and C-C composites for wide range of thermal management applications.  By working with our customers together, we have designed, fabricated and conducted performance testing on prototypes using high conductivity carbon-based materials and composites.

Thermal Heat Exchanger

Allcomp has developed a family of porous carbon foam for advanced applications. Allcomp also provides design and testing supports to potential customers. By working with our customers together, we have designed, fabricated and conducted performance testing on prototypes using high conductivity carbon-based materials and composites.

Carbon foam can be used for insulative structural application and specially processed conductive foam can be used as heat exchanger core for advanced liquid-liquid heat exchanger and also for advanced heat exchanger along with phase change materials (PCM) as shown below.

C-C Bearing Retainer

Allcomp is under an exclusive license from US Air Force to fabricate C-C retainers or cages for advanced bearing applications.
